MARQUETTE, MI (Great Lakes Radio News) – A national effort to prevent crime in local communities is coming to Marquette County. The National Night Out is an effort that encourages communities to hold block parties, barbecues or other safe, alcohol-free parties so people can get to know their neighbors and their law enforcement officers.
Michigan State Police Trooper Stacey Rasanen and Marquette County Emergency Management Co-ordinator Theresa Schwalbach stopped by the Sunny Studios this morning to chat with Mark Evans about how folks in Marquette County can take part in the effort. They explained the process of setting up a community party for either the evening or for lunch time as part of the National Noon Out as well.
