Marquette – The community is invited to a Blessing of the Garden at Lothlorien, on Thursday, May 12 at 5:15 p.m. at the Lutheran Campus Ministry (ELCA) house, 701 W. College Avenue in Marquette.
The Lutheran Campus Minisitry will begin a partnership program, The Lavender Project, with Lake Superior Hospice. Lavender is used ceremonially by Lake Superior Hospice for cleansing and anointing. It’s aromatherapy helps with grief, pain and healing. The Lavender Project is an expression of Lothlorien’s Healing Garden Ministry.
Lothlorien, named for a mythical land in J.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, will provide the setting for Katy Nelson, Naturopathic Physician, and the Ministry to partner with Lake Superior Hospice in providing patients and their families gifts of lavender from the garden. After the blessing, light refreshments will follow.
