Marquette – Michael Philip Mossman, a Latin jazz trumpeter and arranger/composer, will headline the 15th annual Northern Michigan University Jazz Festival on Thursday, April 14 and Friday, April 15. The event also features the United States Marine Corps All-Star Jazz Band. Approximately 22 high school and middle school ensembles from throughout the region will participate in daytime clinics and performances.
The Marine Corps ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kaufman Auditorium. Admission is free, but tickets must be picked up in advance at any NMU EZ Tickets outlet.
Mossman will perform with the NMU Jazz Band and Jazz Combo at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Kaufman Auditorium. Tickets are available at NMU EZ Ticket outlets. Cost is $6 for NMU students, $8 for non-NMU students $11 for the general public.
