Houghton – All children and parents are invited to Downtown Houghton for safe trick or treating at Shelden Avenue businesses on October 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.
“Treat Street” is sponsored and will be overseen by the Houghton Fire Department and Houghton Police Department.
Start out at City Hall to pick up your free reflective safe trick or treating bag (to the 1st 1,000 children) along with other goodies and to tour the haunted house. Then, walk Shelden Avenue for trick or treating at participating businesses and check out the newly completed street.
The Houghton Fire Department will provide crossing guards.
Return to City Hall at 6:30 p.m. for a kids costume parade and contest. Prizes will be awarded to scariest, cutest and funniest costumes.
