Marquette – The 19th annual “Learning to Walk Together” traditional pow wow will be held on Saturday, March 12 at Northern Michigan University’s Vandament Arena. Doors open at 11 a.m. and grand entry times are noon and 6 p.m.
The grand entry features the flag song followed by the veterans’ honor song. The emcee will provide information on male and female traditional dances, jingle dress and grass dance and the male and female fancy dance. Social dances, such as the inter-tribal, round dance and two-step, are also featured and the audience is invited to participate. Artisan and vendor booths will provide a variety of craft items, reference materials and food.
Admission is $5 for the general public and free with NMU student ID.
