Marquette – Travel back in time to 1870 with the Lake Superior Time Machine for a 3D tour of the mining towns around Lake Superior on Sunday, February 27 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Jack Deo of Superior View will present the 3D photographic work of B.F. Childs, the premiere photographer of the Lake Superior District in the late 1800’s. The stereographs created by Childs have been digitized for 3D viewing, allowing the audience to experience the depth of the copper and iron mines and early views of the shipping towns as they existed over 100 years ago.
There is no admission charge, but donations to benefit the library’s programming fund will be accepted. This presentation is part of the Midwinter Storytelling Festival at the Peter White Public Library. For more information, go to www.pwpl.info or call 228-4318.
