Marquette – The Marquette Folk Dancers, along with the Northern Michigan Dancers, have invited Paul Collins of Ethnic Dance Chicago to conduct a series of dance workshops. His teaching will emphasize Scandanavian and other Northern European turning couple dances.
The Marquette Folk Dancers will sponsor an introductory session on Friday, February 18 at 7 p.m. in the second floor studio at 1500 W. Washington Street in Marquette.
Sessions also will be offered on Saturday, February 19 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Dance Zone, 1113 Lincoln Avenue, Marquette, followed by a dance party at 7 p.m.
Dancers of all abilities are welcome. Cost for the Friday night session is $2. The other workshops are free, but donations will be accepted. For more information, call 228-9453 or 226-9617.
