Marquette – The Peter White Public Library will host a luncheon accompanied by a presentation by local chef, columnist and author Don Curto on Monday, February 14 at noon in the Community Room.
The meal, catered by the New York Deli, will feature linguini with Tapok sauce, a dish served only in Marquette and Tapok, Italy. The chocolate cake for dessert will be made from a recipe in Curto’s book “Stirring It Up!”, and will be prepared by the PWPL Tasty Reads book group. During the luncheon Curto will share stories about his travels in Italy.
“Stirring it Up!” contains some of Curto’s favorite articles from his regular columns in Marquette Monthly focusing on food, family and country. The book is co-written by his wife, Patricia Tikkanen, and is filled with personal anecdotes, photos and recipes from their years together. There will be a book sale and signing opportunity after the luncheon.
Tickets cost $6 each or two for $11 and are available at the circulation desk.
This event is part of the Midwinter Storytelling Festival, featuring events that celebrate the art of the well-told tale. For more information, call 228-9510 or visit www.pwpl.info.
