Skandia – Boy Scout Troop 356 and Crew 356 will sponsor a Scout Fun Day on Saturday, January 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. across from the A and M Cafe, 9535 U.S. 41 S., Skandia.
Outdoor demonstrations as well as participation activities for all ages will be offered, as well as information on Venturing, which offers challenging outdoor activities for boys and girls ninth-grade age and older.
The troop will also sponsor its 10th annual Chili Warm-up on Saturday, February 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Skandia Township Hall, 224 Kreiger Drive. Meat and vegetarian chili, cornbread, coleslaw and dessert will be served, and take out will be available.
A donation of $6 for adults and $3 for ages 6-12 years is requested. Funds will go toward the troop’s high adventure trips and out of council camping. The troop is planning a summer trip to Camp Hiawatha and a high adventure in the Sylvania Tract.
