Ishpeming – The Al Quaal recreation area tube slide and ski hill will open for the winter season Monday, December 27, weather permitting.
The hill will be open from noon to 5 p.m. through December 31 and January 1 and 2. Beginning Saturday, January 8, the hill will be open noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Cost is $7 per person per day.
The area also has three cross country ski trails and one snowshoe trail. The Teal Lake cross country trail is lighted until 9 p.m. daily. For information, call 486-6181.
