Kevin Korpi, Executive Director of the Michigan Forest Products Council, stopped by the studios recently to discuss the role of the forest products industry in Michigan in the economic recovery of the state and surrounding region. The conversation looked at several aspects of forestry and forest product manufacturing as well as the need for a proper balance of commercial development and good stewardship by those responsible for the keeping of the forestlands. Korpi also gave us some of his insights into the possible future of the forest product industry in Michigan as the new Republican controlled legislature and new Republican Governor-elect Rick Snyder take over in Lansing.
