United States Congressman Bart Stupak joined us this morning on the program to discuss his views and perspectives about the current political climate in the country and here in his district, which covers the entire Upper Peninsula and a good portion of Northern Lower Michigan. Stupak, who is retiring after this term from Congress, also commented on the current race for his seat between Democrat GaryMcDowell of Sault St. Marie and Republican Dan Benishek of Iron River. Stupak also gave us a bit of insight into his sentiments about not running for an office at this time of year for the first time in over two decades and he shared a bit of information about what the future will hold for him after he cleans out his office in Washington, D.C.
