Ishpeming – The Marquette County Labor Council will sponsor a Labor Day Festival on Monday, September 7 in Ishpeming.
The festival begins with a parade featuring the Ishpeming Blue Notes at 11 a.m. on Euclid Street.
The parade will go from Euclid to Main to Division to Lakeshore Drive, with Rich Brown, former State Representative and current clerk of the Michigan House of Representatives.
A picnic and rally will follow the parade at the Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum and Lake Bancroft Park, with parking available at the musuem and the Elks Club.
The picnic lunch will cost $4 and refreshments will be available. Music will be provided by Fast Eddie's Blues Band.
Speeches will be presented and there will be children's activities. Free museum tours will be offered from noon to 2 p.m.
