State Representative Gary McDowell, a Democrat from Rudyard in the Eastern U.P. joined us while he was in town as part of a State House Subcommittee on Appropriations for Higher Education hearing at Northern Michigan University. He visited the morning show to talk about his interest in the 1st Congressional District seat that is being vacated by the announcement of Congressman Bart Stupak, who not running for re-election this fall. McDowell, who has not officially announced he is running, discussed why he is interested in entering a very crowded field of candidates for the seat.
