Marquette – The Peter White Public Library’s Afternoon Classic Films Series will present “The Philadelphia Story” starring Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Stewart on Friday, March 19 at 1:30 p.m.

The 1940 film is a classic upper-crust comedy, a brilliant adaptation of the Philip Barry play set in the high society of the Philadelphia “Mainline.” Tracy Lord (Hepburn) is a wealthy heiress in search of romance. Cary Grant plays her ex-husband, and James Stewart won an Academy Award for his role as the reporter who falls in love with her.

The film is shown in its original black and white and runs for 112 minutes. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
