Marquette – Community wide auditions for William Shakespeare's romantic allegory “The Tempest” will be held on Friday, January 16 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, January 17 at 10 a.m. in the Black Box Theatre (McClintock Room 105) at NMU.
Callbacks will be on Sunday, January 18 at 1 p.m.in Forest Roberts Theatre.
All actors must prepare a 45-60 second verse cutting from any Shakespearian play; it need not be memorized. Scenes and improvisations will be available at auditions.
A large cast is needed, including several youths 14 or older. Rehearsals will begin in late February. Perusal scripts are available from the theater office.
“The Tempest” will run April 21-25 at Forest Roberts Theatre. A special Upper Peninsula high school matinee will be presented at 10 a.m. Monday, April 20.
