Marquette – Messiah Lutheran Church in Marquette, an ELCA congregation, will be
offering the community a mid-week meal and worship time on Wednesday, February 24 at noon and again at 5:30 p.m.
After a simple noon meal, Reverend Tim Bernard will offer a sermon “The Church in Exile” based on Scripture and the writings by biblical scholar, Walter Bruggemann, examining Bruggemann’s book, “Mandate to Difference: An Invitation to the Contemporary Church.”
In the evening, there is a soup supper, followed by worship that will offer the sermon, simple hymns, and a time for lighting candles with reflective prayer around the cross. In addition, supervised care
will be available for children four years old and younger at the evening worship.
