Marquette – The 13-piece Afro-Caribbean jazz group Alex Torres y su Orquesta will perform on Thursday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center at Northern Michigan University.
The group’s repertoire features such dance-friendly rhythms as salsa, merengue, cha-cha, Latin jazz and Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena.
The concert is part of the NMU International Performing Arts Series, and dedicated to the memory of Susan Goodrich, former NMU professor of Spanish and Portuguese.
Tickets cost $18 advance and $20 at the door for the public; $5/$6 for students; and $13/$20 for NMU faculty and staff and seniors 60 and older. Purchase tickets at any NMU EZ Ticket outlet.
