Marquette – The Marquette General Hospital Volunteers invite the community to attend its fourth annual Lights of Love tree lighting ceremony on Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m. at the corner of College Avenue and Seventh Street in Marquette.
Christmas carols will be sung around the tree, and refreshments will be served following the program in the Neldberg Lobby.
A donation of $5 or more for each name reserves a light on the tree to memorialize a loved one, honor a relative or friend, or celebrate a birth. Names will be displayed in the Neldberg Lobby during the holiday season and placed in a permanent memory book.
Lights will continue to shine throughout the holiday season. Proceeds benefit volunteer projects such as MGH’s hospitality program, wig salon, health information center, Beacon House and patient needs.
In order to prevent the spread of the flu, people attending the event must be free of flu-like symptoms. Children age 14 and under may attend, but cannot enter any hospital building after the outdoor ceremony.
To purchase a light, pick up a brochure at the MGH Gift Shop or call 225-3280.
