The Marquette Police Cadets Junior Division baseball team went on the road to take on Froberg's Clothing of Gwinn. Unfortunately, it wasn't that good of road trip. Gwinn beat the Cadets by a score of 8-4. Solid defense and pitching were the keys to their success.
Head Coach Randy Larson's Game Summary:The Police Cadets travelled south Monday to take on Gwinn. The Gwinn team wasnt a very friendly host as they beat PC 8-4 for their first victory of the season. PC couldnt hit the pitching of Petermin and Gwinns defense was flawless through the first 5 innings. The hits were sporadic and the walks were few. Leading the way offensively for PC were Cameron Fries and Theo Sanyal who each had two hits. Drew Van Drese, Jesse Dupras and Spencer Larson also recorded one hit each. Scoring the runs for PC were Fries, Van Drese, Dupras and Larson. Pitching for PC were Alex Baker, Garrett Pentecost, Austin Riipi and Trevor Havican. PC pitching gave up five walks and five hits, unfortunately most of them were in the same inning and Gwinn scored 6 in the 3rd to seal the deal. Alex Baker absorbs the loss.
