Big Bay – The second leg of the fundraiser “Great Lakes Walk, Paddle and Roll” will be held on Sunday, July 12, beginning at noon in Big Bay.
The event, put on by Freshwater Future, Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve, and Save the Wild U.P., will be a Wilderness Orienting Walk. Those participating will collect pledges prior to the walk.
There will be a mini-workshop on how to use a compass, read a map, and get your bearings in the natural world. After the workshop, participants will go out and use their skills during their walk.
