The Marquette Senior High School Redmen freshman football team held a scrimmage at the William Hart practice field against the Westwood Patriots and the Kingsford Flivvers in Marquette on Friday, August 22, 2008.
The teams ran ten plays each on offense and defense. Marquette appeared to edge its competitors with touchdown runs off of Garrett Pentecost and Brian Meyers. Quarterback, Brad Meyers, also threw for a few completions while quarterback, Josh Beaudry, ran the option pretty well with a couple of personal runs for over five yards a piece. They also were one for one on two point conversions.
Assistant coach, Doug Heslip, was pretty happy with his teams performance stating that his team should have a pretty good season overall.
The MSHS freshman football team will open their season at home this Thursday against the Kingsford Flivvers at 6:30pm.
