Miners steamroll Patriots in final regular season game, 51-34

Miners FootballThe Negaunee Miners varsity football team defeated the Westwood Patriots in their last regular season game by a score of 51-34, in Negaunee, Michigan on Thursday, October 23, 2008.

The score was not indicative of the type of game played as the Miners scored all of their points in the first half. The score at half-time was 51-6.

With three minutes left in the half, Negaunee pulled most of its starters and sent in the second string. Westwood was then able to generate some offense in the second half and score an additional four touchdowns.

The Miners now move on to the play-offs. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
