Wildcats win second game of the season by defeating the Oilers at the Superior Dome, 29-22

FootballThe NMU Wildcat football team defeated the Findlay University Oilers in the Superior Dome in Marquette, Michigan on Saturday, October 25, 2008.

The Wildcats overcame a lot of adversity to pull out this huge win over the Oilers. Missing all four of their running backs, the Cats had to dig deep in the roster to put a couple of backs on the field Saturday. Second team quarterback, Matt Blanchard and wide reciever, Fred Wells answered the call.

Both men did very well working with NMU's running game. Wells ran for 119 yards on 23 carries.

Northern will face Grand Valley State University (the top team in their division) this Saturday at the Superior Dome. Kick-off is at 1:00pm.
