Michigan Tech involved in Michigan’s first Center of Energy Excellence

Michigan TechMichigan Tech has partnered with Michigan State University and the Mascoma Corporation to produce Michigan's first Center of Energy Excellence. The center will be a commercial cellulosic ethanol plant located in Chippewa County, south of Sault Ste. Marie. Cellulosic ethanol offers a clean-burning and economical alternative to petroleum-based fuel and ethanol made from corn. David Reed, Michigan Tech's Vice President of Research, talks about the fuel.
