Cleveland Cliffs has announced a merger with Alpha Natural Resources to create Cliffs Natural Resources Company. The companies are both in the work of producing materials for the steel industry. Cleveland Cliffs will gain 57 coal mines through the merger. Dale Hemmila, district manager of public affairs for Cleveland Cliffs in Michigan, comments.
