Fundraising on Foot

Mining AwarenessOn August 18th, a group of concerned citizens will begin their walk from the Yellow Dog Plains to the Mackinac Bridge to raise awareness and concern about the potential harmful side effects of metallic sulfide and uranium mining. Their two week journey across the U.P. will involve stops in communities along the way to inform the public on the issue. The walking group will end their travels with the bridge walk. Cynthia Pryor, executive director of the Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve, speaks.
