Miners Beach Temporary Parking Closure and NCT Trail Reroute

Munising, MI – Late last year, the stairwell for public access to Miners Beach in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore was obliterated by the lovely Lake Superior. Her power, as we see daily, has no bounds. The National Parks Employees have finally released information about their plans for the future of Miners Beach public access. This construction project will also cause a small reroute of the North Country National Scenic Trail. Don’t worry though, you won’t be missing out on anything. It is only a mile of the trail that will be detoured. The beach itself will remain open. These changes will all begin May 8th, 2023.
