ESCANABA – In CUPPAD's bi-annual Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy report to be delivered to the Marquette County Board Wednesday, is a proposal to create a Sawyer Airfield Incubator. The new Smartzone would, officials say, team up with the incubators currently working with Finlandia and Michigan Tech in the Copper Country.
Each year, CUPPAD sends along funding requests by its six-member counties to the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
