Janis F. Kearney, author, book publisher, lecturer, literacy and education advocate, and oral historian will be speaking at Northern Michigan University. On Wednesday, February 1, she will present the lecture “Diversity: The Color of Our Future” at 7 p.m. in the Cadillac/Brule Rooms of the University Center. On Thursday, February 2, she will present the lecture “Careers in Writing” at 4 p.m. in the Nicolet Room of the University Center, and also give a reading from her book “Cotton Field of Dreams: A Memoir” at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicolet/Marquette Rooms of the University Center.
