Marquette Astronomy Club will offer the public a chance to view Mars at its brightest. The Marquette Astronomical Society MAS members will setup their telescopes near the entrance of Mattson Park on Friday night, October 14th, weather permitting, starting at 9:30 p.m. Mars will be brighter and closer then it has been in the last two years. It will not be bigger until 2018.The moons details will also be viewed and features identified.
MAS is a nonprofit organization that has bimonthly meetings at the Shiras Planetarium the first Friday at 7:30 p.m. More info can be obtained by calling Scott at 225-0959 or on the web at www. geocities.comsstobbelaarmqtastro.com.
