The NICE Community School District is pleased to announce the inaugural W.E.A.S.L.E. (West End Area Snowshoe Lantern Event), to be held Saturday, February 6, from 5-9p.m.at the Westwood High School trails. Participants are asked to pre-register for the event and will be given a time slot to ensure proper social distancing.
By staggered start, snowshoe along the lantern-lite, student-built campus trails that start at the Westwood Tennis Courts. The family-friendly trail is about two miles round-trip and takes about one hour to complete.
The trail is suitable for the experienced and newbie snowshoers alike. Shorter trail loops will also be available. If you do not have snowshoes, you can borrow from NICE Community Schools. Be sure to bring a face covering and follow COVID prevention protocols.
A $10 donation is asked per person, with a $25 family cap, which can be given the day of the event or sent in advance to Aspen Ridge School. Proceeds will benefit the Trail Building Class. For more information call the Aspen Ridge office at 485-3176 or go to Facebook West End Trails.
