The 2006 Scandinavian Midsummer celebration will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. at Presque Isle Park in Marquette. Observe demonstrations in embroidery, wood carving, rosemaling, blacksmithing, and straw weaving. Music will be provided by Wil Kilpela with Paavo Hilska, Ron Jarvinen and the Backwoods Boys, and Midsummer Children's Choir. Prizes, dancing, boot-toss, wife-carrying, and a bonfire will be included in the festivities.
