The Marquette County Conservation District would like your help in containing Garlic Mustard, an exotic invasive species, which is threatening the area forestry, recreational and wildreness areas, fungus cultivation, waterways and even residential property. The MCCD will be hosting “The Great Garlic Mustard Showdown & Lunch Break Escape” to educate the public on Garlic Mustard and to remove two patches near the US 41 bypass on Thursday, June 22nd and Friday, June 23rd from 11am to 2pm. MCCD's Native Plants Coordinator, Sue Rabitaille, and others from the MCCD will be on hand to answer questions. Lunch will be provided by : Third Street Bagel Co. of Marquette, Gopher's Cafe of Marquette, Marquette Food Co-op, Dano's Gourmet Pizza of Marquette, and Babycakes Muffin Company of Marquette.
