Negunee Community Contributions Grants

Negaunee, MI – City Manager Nate Heffron is pleased to announce the recipients of the Negaunee Community Contributions Grants. The first is the Iron Range Hockey Association ($500), which will be using their funds to help make upgrades at their concession stand. The other recipient, the Negaunee Irontown Association ($1000), will be used to help celebrate Pioneer Days, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary!

The donation was made possible through community relations funding from WPPI Energy, the not-for-profit wholesale power provider and joint action agency of which Negaunee is a member-owner. “WPPI knows how important it is to be good stewards of the community, we are happy to be part of the great things happening in Negaunee”, Brett Niemi, Senior Energy Services Representative of WPPI said.

In total, $20, 117.00 have been given through this program since 2006. “This is a great way to give back to our local non-profits. Negaunee is blessed to have a variety of organizations that help to improve our quality of life everyday”, Heffron said.

Questions concerning this release may be directed to the attention of the City Manager, Nate Heffron at (906) 475-7700 ext. 11, or Brett Niemi at 906.284.2298.
