Marquette, MI – Northern Michigan University will be hosting the first ever Bike Week on campus. During the week of April 22nd, there will be various events throughout the university’s campus that encourage bicycling for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Bike Week is designed to promote health, safety and sustainability in a bike-friendly environment. NMU Student Bicycle & Trail Programs Manager and Bike Week Co-coordinator, Ryan Watling states, “Bike Week’s goals are to increase ridership and improve bicycle commuting habits on campus. This week of events will demonstrate that biking isn’t solely recreational but that biking is also an accessible mode of transportation.”
Events throughout the week will include:
● Bike Fair on Monday, April 22
● Tune-Up Tuesday on Tuesday, April 23
● Group Bike Ride with Wildcat Willy on Tuesday, April 23
● Bike to Campus Day on Wednesday, April 24.
