Marquette, MI – Coffeehouses were established over 600 years ago in the Middle East. Historically, they have served two primary functions: dispensing beverages and providing a space for social interaction.
On Wednesday, February 6th, Dr. Michael Broadway, from the Department of Earth, Environmental and Geographical Sciences at NMU, will report the results of his research into whether US coffeehouses still provide a space for social interaction or whether they have become ‘a place to be alone together.’
This forum will be held at 6:15 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church after the 5:30 pm community meal at Messiah’s Magnuson Hall. All are welcome to the community meal and forum. Messiah Lutheran Church is at 305 W. Magnetic St. in Marquette. For more information about Messiah or the forum, please call 225-1119.
