Negaunee, MI – October 16, 2018 – City Manger Nate Heffron is pleased to announce the recipients of the Negaunee Community Contributions Grants; Negaunee Little League ($500) and Vista Theater ($1000). The donation was made possible through community relations funding from WPPI Energy, the not-for-profit wholesale power provider and joint action agency of which Negaunee is a member-owner. “WPPI knows how important it is to be a good stewards of the community, we are happy to be part of the great things happening in Negaunee”, Brett Niemi, Senior Energy Services Representative of WPPI said.
In total, $18, 611.00 have been given through this program since 2006. “This is a great way to give back to our local non-profits. Negaunee is blessed to have a variety of organizations that help to improve our quality of life everyday,” Heffron said.
In addition, the city will be changing how these funds are distributed. Starting June 2019, any non-profit organization within the city limits of Negaunee can pick up an application from the City Treasurer or online. More information will be released on the qualifications and the deadline for applications this spring.
