A full-day training for small and larger sawmill operators is being offered by Alger County MSU Extention in Munising on Saturday, August 26. Topics will cover hardwood lumber markets, lumber quality grades, differences in soft and hardwood lumber production and handling, the economic potential of producing and selling hardwood lumber with a small mill. Mike Long, hardwood consultant, will be instructing.Cost for the program is $45 for a single registration, $25 for each additional person from the same business or family.
