Ishpeming Cancer Society serving Marquette County will be holding a potluck picnic at the Al Quaal recreation area on Sunday, August 20 from noon to 4 p.m. for survivors and family members that have been affected by cancer. This event will be to announce the recent name change of the organization to Cancer Care of Marquette County CCMC and celebrate the tireless efforts to aid Marquette County residents in their battle with cancer. Since 1958 the Ishpeming Cancer Societies all-volunteer organization has been providing patient services to low income, uninsured and under-insured cancer patients, who are unable to respond to the catastrophic health care costs caused by this disease and its treatment. We welcome all Marquette County residents and their family members to celebrate surviving and remembering those who have courageously battled cancer.
