Marquette, Mich.– May Erlewine will be at the Ore Dock Brewing Co. this Friday, May 4 from 7:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.

From traditional folk roots, old-time country swing, soul, and rock-and-roll, May sings from her heart.  As”Michigan’s Songbird” she is one of the most prolific and passionate songwriters of her generation, touching the heart’s of people all over the world. When she starts to sing, welcome the moment.

Her journeys have taken her all over the world, from street corners to renowned stages, May has performed all works of life. In her travels, Erlewine came to know the land and the pulse of the people. Her songs show a very real connection and concern with everyday folk.

Marquette, Mi.– The 3rd Annual Spring Fling Sing is at the Lake Superior Christian Church this Saturday, April 28 from 3:00- 5:30 p.m.

This year’s show features the local Barbershop Chorus, two fabulous quartets, and the Gwinn MS/HS Choir.

There will be an afterglow at the Gwinn VFW at 6:00 p.m. including a light meal for the performers and anyone else who wants to attend.

Marquette Choral Society to Perform – April 28

Marquette, Mich.– The Marquette Choral Society will perform a newly commissioned work this Saturday, April 28, for 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Recital Hall.

The newly commissioned work is by local composer, Griffin Candey, with texts by Walt Whitman, Anastasia Pennington-Flax and local area poet, Kathleen M. Heideman. “The Night Psalms” will premiere alongside Ralph Vaughan Williams epic major work “Dona Nobis Pacem,” also on texts by Walt Whitman.

Tickets: $10 per adult and $6 for students
