3rd Annual Spring Fling Sing – April 28

Marquette, Mi.– The 3rd Annual Spring Fling Sing is at the Lake Superior Christian Church this Saturday, April 28 from 3:00- 5:30 p.m.

This year’s show features the local Barbershop Chorus, two fabulous quartets, and the Gwinn MS/HS Choir.

There will be an afterglow at the Gwinn VFW at 6:00 p.m. including a light meal for the performers and anyone else who wants to attend.

Marquette Choral Society to Perform – April 28

Marquette, Mich.– The Marquette Choral Society will perform a newly commissioned work this Saturday, April 28, for 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Recital Hall.

The newly commissioned work is by local composer, Griffin Candey, with texts by Walt Whitman, Anastasia Pennington-Flax and local area poet, Kathleen M. Heideman. “The Night Psalms” will premiere alongside Ralph Vaughan Williams epic major work “Dona Nobis Pacem,” also on texts by Walt Whitman.

Tickets: $10 per adult and $6 for students

NMU Choirs to Perform – April 22

“Music in a Grand Space”

Marquette, Mi. – The University Choir and Arts Chorale of NMU will present their “Music for a Grand Space” performance this Sunday, April 22, at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Peter Cathedral.

Under the direction of Dr. Erin Colwitz, the Choir and Arts Chorale of NMU will feature choral music especially suited for the Cathedral. Joined by brass and a wind octet, they will perform works by Brahms, Stravinsky, Britten, Holst, Palestrina, and Rutter among others.

This free event is open to the public.
