Friends of the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library will hold a used book sale from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3 in the teen room of the library. Hardcover books cost 50 cents and paperbacks 25 cents. This will be the final sale until March.

Quilt Sale Nov. 3

A quilt sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 3 in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. Featured will be works by members of the Marquette County Quilters Association, including large and small quilts, bags, wallets, embellishments, table runners, clothing ornaments and hand dyes.

Harvest Bazaar at St. Christopher's Nov. 3

St. Christopher Parish will host its annual harvest bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, November 3 in the parish hall. There will be a craft sale, country store, raffle and a bake sale featuring homemade pies. Parish youth will serve bratwurst, chili and more. St. Christopher Parish is located at the corner of Ontario and Badger streets in the Trowbridge Park neighborhood of Marquette Township.

Lecture on Wolves Nov. 6

A lecture on “The Wolves of Isle Royale” will be presented by Rolf Peterson at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. November 6 in West Science lecture hall B at NMU. Peterson, a professor at the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences at Michigan Tech University, will discuss findings of the nearly 50-year study of predator-prey relationships in the wild. He will present highlights of his 35 years of work at Isle Royale and explain how the research has helped shape public opinion of the wolf. He also will sign copies of his new book, “The Wolves of Isle Royale.”

Benefit Spaghetti Dinner Nov. 4

A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held for the Paul Peterson family from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 4 at the Michigamme Community Building. There will be music at 4 p.m. Proceeds will assist with medical expenses related to an illness in the Peterson family.

Second Sunday Folk Dance Series Nov. 11

The Second Sunday Folk Dance presents Kitty Donohoe, an award winning singer-songwriter from Ann Arbor, Michigan on Sunday, November 11. The concert begins at 4 p.m. CT with White Water performing a short concert set. Donohoe will then present a concert of her American-Irish music. Food and beverages will be served after the concert and the dance part of the evening begins with Bette Premo & The Front Parlor Dance Band playing tunes and providing dance instruction until 7 p.m. Admission for the concert/dance is $7 per adult and children (under age 15) are admitted free. The concert hall at Fortune Lake Camp has ample space for kids and adults to enjoy the concert, the food, the friendship, and the dance. The Fortune Lake Camp is located between Iron River and Crystal Falls, 2 miles west of Crystal Falls on US-2. Turn south on Bible Camp Road and drive for less than a quarter mile. Turn right on Fortune Lake Camp Road and just drive a short distance.
