Women Today, Inc., an inter-denominational Christian ministry, announces its 33rd Annual Retreat to be held on Friday, April 21 through Sunday, April 23, 2006 on the campus of Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. The theme is “Jesus-Our Rock in Troubled Times” based on Psalm 343. Featured speaker will be Gloria Gaither from Alexandria, Indiana. Gloria is an author, speaker and songwriter. Gloria and her husband, Bill, share dozens of Dove awards, Grammies and recognitions from ASCAP. She has authored over 30 books and written the lyrics to more than 700 songs, including Because He Lives, The King is Coming, and Upon This Rock. Ambassadors of Faith, a male quartet from Ontario, Canada will provide the music for the weekend. The quartet was formed in 2003 and they have traveled extensively within their area singing in Churches, camps, prisons and retirement homes, bringing joy, faith and gospel. Alzheimer Association's 10th Annual Benefit Breakfast March 19

The Alzheimers Association is hosting their 10th annual Benefit Breakfast Buffet and Silent Auction on Sunday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Masonic Building, 128 W. The Learning to Walk Together Traditional Pow Wow will be held at Vandament Arena at NMU in Marquette on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19. Grand Entries will be at 1 and 7 p.m. on Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. A weekend pass is $5, a single day is $3, and NMU students with i.d.s and youth 14 and under are free. Explainer training will be offered at the U.P. Children's Museum from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 3. The Explainer volunteer/ leadership program is open to any youth aged 8-18. The first Friday of each month from 6-8 youth are trained to be volunteer leaders within the children's museum. At 7:30 there is mandatory training for parents/care givers.
