Marquette – DocuMonday will present a screening of the 2015 documentary film “Racing Extinction” on Monday, December 5 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Scientists predict that humanity’s footprint on the planet may cause the loss of 50% of all species by the end of the century. They believe we have entered the sixth major extinction in Earth’s history, following the extinction which took out the dinosaurs. Evidence shows that humanity has sparked a cataclysmic change of the world’s natural environment and animal life.
With state-of-the-art photographic technology, director Louie Psihoyos pulls into focus our impact on the planet, to inspire us all to embrace the solutions that will ensure a thriving, biodiverse world for future generations.
Winner of numerous film festival awards and an Academy Award nominee, “Racing Extinction” premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, is rated PG and runs for 90 minutes.
There is no admission charge. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
