Marquette – The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center will coordinate a “Be the Match” bone marrow registration drive on Monday, April 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Payne/Halverson lobby and on Tuesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Jamrich Hall ticket booth near the auditorium on the NMU Campus.
Volunteer Center staff will be available to swab cheek cells and help students join the “Be the Match” registry as a prospective donor. “Be the Match” is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program. For the past 25 years, it has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world for thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.
