Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will present “Marquette the Frisbee Sanctuary” on Wednesday, July 30 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewery in Marquette.
The sport of Frisbee goes back nearly 50 years in Marquette and the city was designated an official Frisbee Sanctuary back in 1975 by Wham-O Manufacturing Co. the maker of the Frisbee. The annual Guts Frisbee Tournament is growing in popularity. Steve DesJardins will take a historical look back on the sport.
The event will pay tribute to local Frisbee activist Craig “Buck” Buchanan, who recently passed away. Admission is a $5 Suggested donation. For more information, visit marquettehistory.org or call 226-3571.
