Marquette – The Beaumier Coffee House Series will present a concert of music and movement with singer/songwriter Naomi Noordyk, along with Michael and Erica Waite on Saturday, December 15 at 7 p.m. in the Peter White Lounge of the University Center at Northern Michigan University.
The 16-year-old Noordyk is lead singer for the Christian band 41West and a lead singer and acoustic guitarist for the local country band, GRN Twine. She is also a member of the Wednesday Night Music Club.
Michael and Erika Waite are also from Marquette County. He studied music at NMU and she studied ballet at Western Michigan University. Together they perform songs of love and life through images of nature and the lives of common people.
The concert is part of the Upper Peninsula Folklife Festival, which is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. The public is invited. Admission is free, with donations encouraged.
