Marquette – Non-violent peace activist, Iyad Burnat, will offer a lecture on his experience working with Palestinians, Israelis, and internationals, including his family’s experience in Bil’in, on Monday, November 19 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Erie Room of the University Center at Northern Michigan University.
For many years, Bil’in has struggled against the Israeli occupation, the building of settlements, night raids in their homes, a loss of water, lack of freedom to move, and efforts to erect the Separation Wall in their town, much of which resulted in Israel annexing land from Bil’in. They were able to shift the route after many acts of non-violence and a verdict from the Supreme Court.
