Marquette – Marquette Senior High School Project Graduation planning underway. Each year, the graduates of the Marquette Senior High School are kept safe and rewarded for their hard work with an all-night party at the Superior Dome. Project Graduation has become a time-honored tradition that is attended by the vast majority of graduates each year.
The event will run Sunday, June 3 from 9:30 p.m. through Monday, June 4 at 5:30 a.m. at the Superior Dome.
This huge undertaking could not happen, of course, without the help of the graduates’ families, who serve as volunteers in shifts, and the local community, which steps up with donations of money and prizes.
The Project Graduation Committee is currently signing up the parents of graduates for two-hour volunteer shifts that night in a wide variety of areas. In addition, the Committee is also seeking financial and prize donations from area businesses, organizations and individuals.
To learn more about the opportunities, and to volunteer and donate, email one of the following committee members: Nancy Bailey at nunu49855@hotmail.com, Lynn Mestnik at lmestnik@hotmail.com, or Joanne Whitley at joanne@uproc.lib.mi.us.
