Crystal Falls – Renowned theater organist Steven Ball will offer a performance on Saturday, September 3 at 7 p.m. CDT at the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls as part of the summer’s “Gem of a Season” series.
Ball will accompany “The Black Pirate,” a 1926 silent adventure film starring Douglas Fairbanks, on the theater’s Moller organ, the largest theater organ north of Milwaukee. Ball has performed several times at the Crystal Theatre. He takes patrons back to the time before “talkies,” when the only film soundtrack was what a theater organist performed.
Advance tickets may be ordered online at www.thecrystaltheatre.org or by calling 875-6867. Admission at the door is $15 for adults and $5 for students. Anyone who shows up dressed as a pirate will receive free popcorn.
